I’ve always been way over competitive….

The result – years of striving for the top, and always coming up short. Since NorCal SC, I don’t come up short any more.

I’ve lost inches and gained LOADS of confidence – to the point of others remarking on how outgoing I am. I do run off at the mouth, so I suppose people can take that for outgoing, though the reality is that I’m a nervous chatterer and tend to open-mouth-exit-thought with NO consideration to the filter that should have been installed at birth. Anyhow, here are some concrete things I have lost and gained through NorCal SC:
Loss:
• Wardrobe (I have NO clothes that fit. Good? Bad? Depends…)
• Weight. I went from an unflattering 174 to an immensely more flattering 148
• Stomach cramps and other digestive instability after eating almost anything
• My burning hatred of running (I mildly detest it now)
• My hearing after my first FGB with Natalie.
• The ability to utilize any section of my vocabulary other than the obscene during a WOD
Gained:
• SLEEP! A former insomniac sleeps like a log. EVERY NIGHT.
• 20 pull ups
• ITC (for those guys out there – that’s Inner Thigh Clearance, something DIRECTLY proportional to a woman’s comfort level in anything tighter than a Muumuu)
• The ability to use a 20# wall ball in a WOD
• Improved performance not only in NorCal SC, but on my mountain bike, in Aikido, and all other physical aspects of my life
• Self control with food.
• Nutritional insight and perspective
• The ability to have FUN and do all the cool things I would dream about before I started my NorCal SC journey
• And the best part– NEW FRIENDS!

People say once you start NorCal SC you start a journey to a new you. I haven’t just become a NEW me, or a Better me, I’ve become a happier me.
