Update on Training for the Guinness Book

Just a little update on the Lou Mars project...the training of professional drummer, Lou Mars, to beat the Guinness Book of World Records “longest marathon drumming by an individual”, currently set at 120 hours.

The folks from the Guinness Book have officially acknowledged the event and the location: OUR GYM!  It’s going to be a rock n’ roll event come January 14th at NorCal!

Lou has also officially selected the charity: LittleKidsRock which is an organization supported by Fender. Only 3 weeks into his preparation for the event and alot of big players in the music industry have their interest piqued!

Robb and I joined Lou today in the studio of KZFR to chat about the event and our role in preparing a musician for this ultra endurance event. Yeah, we typically get folks in shape for MMA fights, triathlon, 5K’s and just generally crazy fit, but the fitness needs of a professional, touring musician must not be underestimated. Especially one undertaking a challenge such as the one Lou Mars is tackling.

We will continue to update y’all as his training progresses and the event draws closer...Check out some pics below!

Oh, and big love to our fabulous team of Lou Mars trainers: Natalie, Cindy, Katie and Andy for kicking his fanny four times a week smile There is no doubt that come January he will be mentally and physically prepared to kick some serious A*%!

Keep up the hard work, it will payoff! Also my son(Kayden) likes rocking out to you playing the drums post workout.

Thanks Shawn, next time have Kayden come on over (assuming the loudness won’t scare him off); the distraction is actually good for my training and I’d be happy to let him bang along with me!
