Low Intensity Training: A different approach to achieving your true potential

Guest Contributor:  Luke Winter
Ever since my first training session with the NorCal SC team three years ago, I have a fond appreciation for exercise and proper diet. I have been around long enough to have seen the evolution NorCal Strength and Conditioning. The crafty staff is always adjusting the training programs as well as their philosophy. Just within the past year or so, many new classes have been created to meet each member’s needs as well as their area of interest too. With all of this stated, I have finally found the class that really has worked for me.

I’ve always been way over competitive….

The result – years of striving for the top, and always coming up short. Since NorCal SC, I don’t come up short any more.

Before I started at NorCal SC…I was working out 14 hours a week!

I was eating what I had considered to be a healthy diet full of lean meats, fruits, veggies and lots of whole grains.  Despite all of my exercise and ‘healthy’ diet, I had hit a plateau at an unhealthy 185 pounds and was a size 14.

Let me start by saying, I hate gyms!

I walk into a globo-gym setting and the will to work-out is sucked out of me. The crowds, lack of structure, and the feeling that I was wasting so much time without results was enough to keep me away for many years.

I am so excited!

I am so excited! Thanks to you and all of my amazing trainers for your support. I have never been part of something so supportive and positive and I am proud to be a part of Crossfit NorCal. I will continue to be dedicated and work my ass off and hopefully make you all proud! Thanks again!

Thanks CrossFit!

When I first called you guys last March looking for a trainer I had no idea
what I was getting myself into. All I knew was that I had let myself go for
a couple of years, hated “regular” gyms and this sounded like a better
option. I had never actually done any sort of regimented working out, and as
you will probably recall Nicki, I was scared. You oh so wisely paired me up
with Angela and here I am almost 7 months later, skinny as I’ve been in 20
years and stronger and more fit than I’ve probably ever been. Thanks for
making a 40+ year old proud of herself again. And a special thanks to Angela
for kicking my butt a few times a week. I love it!

What are you waiting for?

My journey with Natalie Taylor began when my seven year old patted my tummy and told me I was blubbery.  Ouch!  My goal when I met with Natalie was to get in shape.  She developed my program based on my fitness level at that time.  I always felt encouraged and I found that I really liked learning how to use my body correctly.  I have also gained strength, while learning proper form, so that I can do day to day tasks without injury.  I was able to help my husband lift our big gas bar-be-cue off the deck, it was easy and I didn’t get hurt. When I do yard work I don’t suffer the usual aches and pains of the past.  I no longer wake up each morning feeling sore and stiff.  I have never felt better in my forties! I cannot say enough about the great experience I have had working out at CrossFit NorCal with Natalie!  I encourage anyone who wants to really get in shape to contact her today.  What are you waiting for?

Increase in both strength and flexibility

In an attempt to slow and possibly, to some extent, even reverse the ravages of time to my aging body, and to hopefully improve my golf game, I put myself into the capable hands of Robb Wolf at NorCal Strength & Conditioning.  After a relatively short time, I was happy to note an increase in both strength and flexibility to the point that distance, accuracy, consistency and endurance had all measurably improved.  Now if I could only putt.

“I have immediately noticed the results, especially in my agility, strength, power and speed. I am fitter than I ever have been. Robb, Nicki and Greg are extremely knowledgeable about exercise and nutrition.”

Who knew that working out at 7 am could be so rewarding

“I have achieved a level of agility, strength and speed I have never before experienced. Who knew that working out at 7 am could be so rewarding; I get to spend the rest of the day relishing the fact that I accomplished something amazing.”
