Running is a skill!

Most folks know that to participate in sport at a relatively accomplished level you must be prepared. You must be conditioned and you must have a mastery of the skill sets involved. This is obvious for almost every sport you can think of. You wouldn’t dream of expecting to be a good volleyball player without countless hours of drills with a volleyball.
Funny thing when we look at the sport of running.

Saturday Elements Off & Running!

For Karina, Laura, Ashley & Nick, this Saturday started out with a good old fashion butt kickin’. While some of you were still sleeping, a few of them were introduced to the box jump, and they all refined their skills on the rower & kettle bell swing. They ALL did a fantastic job, and when they caught their breath, they even thanked me when they were done! Only Crossfitters!

Stormy weather calls for warm, Paleo-friendly meals and soup is the first thing that comes to my mind! I picked up this squash soup recipe from Laura (see her rope climb picture in Sarah’s post yesterday!) and I absolutely love it. I use this recipe not only as soup, but also pour it over my veggies, chicken, and ground beef. It is a fast and easy way to change up your meals.

We all have moments of self doubt. Who hasn’t second guessed one’s own ability, wondered how he or she might ever reach the top of the mountain, finish the race, get a promotion, or finish that CrossFit workout? But, the truth is, you can!

We are a mere ten days away from the conclusion of our 2009 Paleo Challenge. Where are YOU? Did you give up two weeks ago? Or maybe it was Robb’s birthday party that pushed you over the edge---and you were too hung over to scrape your way back to the top of the Paleo Cliff you had fallen from. Don’t despair! The whole point of this challenge was to motivate you to make the commitment to eat well, sleep well and kick ass in your work-outs.
Feeding the family

Recently I have had a few clients ask me, “How can I get my kids to eat paleo?” Eating paleo can be a big change for kids who are used to a frosted cereal breakfast, PB&J lunch, and a cheesy pasta dinner, BUT - feeding your family paleo is more than possible, it can be fun, fast, and delicious!
Need a Pull-up? Go Ask Roz! + Happy B-day Nick!

Are you struggling to get a pull-up? Are you sooooo close you can taste the metal of the pull up bar as it merely creates a pull up mustache instead of an actual chin-over-the-bar-pull-up? If you are struggling, I know someone who can help:
