Forgive me, I was trying to see how many adjectives I could use in that title…
We made a run to Trader Joe’s this evening after classes wrapped up, hungry and in need of groceries. I was kind of craving something spicy/Mexican like. Robb came up with a true gem! The bonus is that it makes a lot so there’s plenty for tomorrow’s breakfast or lunch.

What do you want Santa to get you for Christmas? New running shoes, sports car, increased physical strength and performance, weight loss? Whatever you told Santa you wanted when you were a child you believed you would receive. Sadly, even as adults we sometimes still believe when we hope for weight loss, a new deadlift max, or faster WOD times we will just magically receive them. Not true! It takes preparation and HARD work to be successful.

Blaire’s boyfriend Mitch let the cat out of the bag that today is Blaire’s 22nd birthday! He left the building shortly after....knowing that a “CrossFit birthday” usually means an ass kicking. Blaire made a special birthday request for a team workout and there might be a few folks that wish Mitch had kept the birthday a secret.

Snow is in the forecast...and temperatures are dropping! Working out in the winter means layering well and getting in a nice long warm-up.

Hard boiled eggs are an easily portable protein source that many of us eat fairly routinely. If you had to guess, how many hardboiled eggs would you say you have you peeled in your life? Do you find it tedious to peel them? I usually tap them on the counter or other firm surface and then roll them a bit…then slowly pick the pieces of shell from the egg. Some peel easier than others and some are just downright stubborn.

We all know that we are headed into a crazy season of holiday parties, tempting food and drink, and busy schedules. How do we make good food choices while not insulting a party host? How about dealing with extended family that is just hell bent on shoving food in our direction? It can be challenging to eat well without increasing the stress that surrounds the holidays.

We had an interesting consensus amongst most of our clients today: “I Feel Like Shit”. These folks have been eating a clean, paleo-esque diet for anywhere from one to several months and have been feeling and performing great. Then Thanksgiving happened.
