Thanks for putting on this great event Kate, Pomali and Mike!!!!  And thanks NorCal for the shout out:-) Speaking on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association, we really appreciate the support!!!

Alzheimer’s disease affects more than 5.3 million families in the USA.  The Alzheimer’s Association provides many free services in the North Vally area, including educational workshops, care consultations and support groups for caregivers.  On a national level, we also fund research and advocate for families who have been affected by the disease.  Each year in October, the Alzheimer’s Association hosts their signature fundraiser, Memory Walk.  Last year the Chico Memory Walk raised over $133,000 and had over 2,000 people participate.

If anyone has any questions about the Alzheimer’s Association, if you would like more information on the Alzheimer’s disease or if you would like to learn more about Memory Walk, just let me know!  I’m usually at the gym Tues & Thurs low intensity or one of the elements classes.  Or you can call our office at 530.895.9661.

  2. Is there a website with more information about Memory Walk?

  3. General info:

Check-In for pre-registered participants and day-of registration opens at 8:30AM and the walk will comence at 10:00AM.  We have live music by Holly Taylor and Eric Peter, booths from over 25 sponsors and community agencies with health info, face painting for the kids and a remembrance area where you can honor a loved one.  As far as the actual walk goes, there is a 3 mile course and a 1 mile shortcut.
