Cindy

Cindy Oji has been part of the NorCal Strength & Conditioning community from nearly the beginning. It wasn’t long after Cindy began working out at CrossFit NorCal, that her interest in the training principals drove her to attend the CrossFit Level 1 training certification. She has since attended seminars such as Olympic Lifting, Performance Development Series with Dutch Lowy, Nutrition with Robb Wolf, CrossFit Kids, Yoga Works Instruction and is now Level II certified. Cindy brings a well-rounded athletic background to the gym—with experience in the team sports of softball, soccer, rugby, as well as the individual events of track and sprint triathlons. Cindy is a role model for healthy living, both in and out of the gym. Her own personal quest for a healthy lifestyle is what makes Cindy an excellent trainer. A seasoned cook, Cindy enjoys making delicious and healthy Paleo/Primal friendly food—and is a great resource for clients in need of nutritional support. Cindy also continues to work for Mark Sisson, offering online nutrition and exercise support and has worked as the head Chef for several of his Primal Blueprint Luxury Retreats. Sharing her love of food and cooking with her clients, is one way Cindy gets to know her clients more personally. When away from the gym, you can find Cindy walking her dog, Hoshi, in the park and spending time with family and friends. She is fortunate to have her older sister, younger brother, a two nieces living here in Chico as well. She is also the co-founder of the Matthew Axelson Foundation created to honor her late husband who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005. The foundation supports military veterans and their families and helps raise awareness for those who fight for our freedoms. Cindy brings her “Never Quit” attitude to the gym and her clients.
