About Jaime Jereb

Jaime

Jaime Jereb has always considered herself a bit of a "lifelete." Never fully focusing on a specific sport, but rather enjoyed the idea of being an active healthy human being for life. "Anything can happen, so you better be prepared!" Mid college, the lifelete found herself following a career path in the fire service. She attended Butte Fire Academy in 2004 where she got a taste of what functional fitness truly was. Being 5'2 and 120, she had to learn to maneuver and carry the equivalent of over half her body weight. After graduating and working in the emergency medical services for several years, she decided that trying to help people after they were sick, unhealthy and broken was not what she wanted to do. Jaime went back to school, attending CSU Chico where she studied Kinesiology in hopes of learning how to prevent some of what she experienced in EMS. In 2006, she packed up and headed to San Diego for a total change of pace and a new career. There she started her own training business, specializing in fun, effective, beach boot camps. Since Jaime has a passion for learning and a desire to bring her clients the best possible tools for success, she went back to school a third time, attending the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a holistic health counselor with a focus on Paleo nutrition and Cross training. She is excited to bring her love of fitness, knowledge of Paleo nutrition and her passion for helping people to the NorCal team.

    The Happiest Place On Earth……..

Guess Again!   I’ll give you 3 clues…….. 1. You can get amazing deals on paleo and paleo-ish foods. 2. For you paleo + booze people, they have a killer beer, wine and adult apple juice aka cider section. 3. I spend almost as much time there as I do at Norcal….don’t judge. Yes! The Grocery Outlet bargain market located next to K-Mart off Cohasset and Pillsbury.  If you’ve been to any of my classes and stick around for the highly anticipated (perhaps only in my mind) “Jaime Chat” then...

    Do you know GMO?

Do you know GMO?   You should, you reeeeeeeeeeally should.  We hear a lot about them, especially since prop 37 was on the ballot last year but let’s get back to basics.   What’s a GMO?      A GMO (genetically modified organism) is the result of a laboratory process of taking genes from one species and inserting them into another in an attempt to obtain a desired trait or characteristic, hence they are also known as transgenic organisms. This process may be called either Genetic Engineering (GE) or Genetic...

32 Simple Ways to be an Awesome Human Being

Sometimes simple is awesome                 1. Don’t be a bully and don’t condone it.  If you see something uncool, SAY SOMETHING! 2. Teach someone something new. Human interaction speaks louder than Google. 3. Break your routine. Never know who you’ll run into, what you will see or how you will change. 4. Stop talking about yourself. 5. Donate something to a person who truly needs it. 6. Stop yelling. It escalates the situation. Breathe. Talk. 7. Pick one topic per week and...

    Mash n’ Smash: Jaime’s Meatloaf-kind of.

One of my favorite things to do is cook.  Well…..truth be told, I’m  just quite fond of eating.  As it turns out,  one cannot live on plantain chips alone so, I cook.  And, while we’re being honest, I wouldn’t exactly call my method “cooking.”   Chrissy Gower,  Sarah Fragoso, Hunter and Farmer, they cook and it’s wonderful!  Me??  I’m more of a mash n’ smash kind of girl. “A what?” Mash n’ Smash It’s where I mash a bunch of ingredients together and smash...

    Scary Dairy? You decide.

Got Milk, Or Not?   What’s better than a fresh batch of warm cookies and a tall glass of cold milk?  If you just boxed jumped on to your kitchen table, ripped off your shirt and yelled MEAT! VEGGIES! WATER! MUSCLE UPS!…Dude, chill out.  Nobody’s looking, you can agree that this stuff at least tastes good. Now put your shirt back on. Growing up being the rolly polly I was, cookies dunked in milk was my favorite! snack……..dessert……..entree.  To be honest, anything dunked in milk.  MILK!...
